Q: In the transmissibility correction, why is the frequency ratio 1.56 instead of 0.65?
A: When taking the square root of the squared term, the expression can be positive or negative. Using the negative branch for 1 - r squared gives the physically reasonable frequency ratio of 1.56; 0.65 comes from choosing the wrong branch and is too low for the vibration isolation situation.
